Good app

It's fast and easy to use. I've had no crashes or freezes. It provides a large list of abbreviations. It does what it's supposed to do, it's that simple.

Decent app, especially for the price. For the abbrviations with a bar, don't do a search. They are found at the end of the alphabet so look on the main page, scroll to one past the letter you're looking for eg d if you are looking for c bar, then scroll up and it's there. Would be nice if you could search "c bar" though.
Most common definition first

Two things. I did search for a very common abbreviation. om, which in most cases is otitis media. It came up but I didn't know that. It was the last definition. Suggestion: Put the most common abbreviation first in your list. Also with your search, don't differentiate between small and caps. It can be a minor nuisance to remember to put the caps on. Otherwise, this app is better than some I've seen and your price is extremely reasonable. Most abbreviation books cost $14 and up.

Needs ROS in notes

For the 5th star:
Include ROS as a separate category under notes, and charge a buck more!
Include those "a with a bar", "c with a bar", and others derived from Latin. They're in the screen shot but not in the app.
Reverse lookup would earn another dollar or two.
Great way to finance your education! Always keep in mind your patients' welfare (26 years in practice). Even when you just don't know, you can still help by caring.

I am a medical student and am constantly trying to figure out medical acronyms. This application covers 90% of the acronyms I have looked up, and now that there is a link to Wikipedia this application has even more far reaching uses of understanding medical terminology.

I wish I knew all the abbreviations but I don't. This app needs flip access to a list of the words/phrases being abbreviated so I can generate the abbreviation for my notes.

Great for a patient (all of us), the nurse, the doctor or a pharmacist tech. I would love to see more citations (I.E. to accrededation sites) or in some cases just more information as in a link to Wikipedia or another respected site. Every review above is excellent.
Search is a /must have/ for any jazzy interface. Always add more words with every release. Keep it up! Great going!

Nice app, easily worth the 99 cents. Search feature is useful. Can the next update distinguish Joint Commission approved from unapproved abbreviations?

App is useful but the search function does not work. When you hit search nothing at all happens. You are forced to use the index letters and a lot of scrolling.
!!! - UPDATE - !!!
Upgraded rating. Search began working after I rebooted my iPhone.

This has been great as a dental student as well taking the MD classes. A couple suggestions:
Symbols need to be added like the one that Drs write on scripts (the capital T with the dot over it). This could be on a separate section (like the favorites section) labeled symbols.
2. I agree that it needs to go the oyer way to search for words that can be abbreviated (like searching for the abbreviation for benzodiazepines and having tge result being the abbreviation for it (BZD).
Otherwise this would be a perfect app with a perfect price.
